Drawstring bags for shoes are textile protective bags with an integrated drawstring closure – a flexible cord run through a tunnel seam along the bag opening that simply pulls tight to close. Which material is the right one?
Non-woven (fleece fabric) is the most cost-efficient solution for volume shoe brands. Polyester is robust and durable, ideal for sports shoes. Cotton canvas looks premium and sustainable, perfect for luxury shoe brands. For an organic claim we recommend GOTS-certified organic cotton.
Which size for typical shoes?
280×380 mm for women's and small men's shoes (up to size 42). 320×420 mm for standard men's shoes and sneakers. 380×480 mm for large shoes and boots. The right size should be slightly oversized so the shoe slips in easily.
Are the bags breathable?
Yes. Unlike film bags, textile drawstring bags are breathable. This matters for leather shoes and sports shoes – they need to “breathe”, otherwise the material deteriorates and mould can form.
Do the bags protect against scratches?
Yes, the textile fabric prevents direct contact between the shoe surface and other objects. This is particularly important for delicate materials such as suede or patent leather.
Are the bags washable?
Non-woven: wipe clean only. Polyester: machine washable at 30 °C. Cotton: machine washable at 30–40 °C. For frequently reused bags, polyester or cotton are the right choice.
Can the bags be printed?
Yes. Brand logo, model name and care instructions can be printed on. For premium brands we recommend sewn-in labels or screen printing.
What does a drawstring bag for shoes cost?
Non-woven from 50 cents per unit in smaller quantities, considerably less at pallet quantities. Polyester approx. 1–2 EUR. Cotton 2–5 EUR depending on fabric quality. For GOTS-certified organic cotton, corresponding surcharges apply.
Are sustainable shoe bags available?
Yes, organic cotton bags with GOTS certification are available. Recycled polyester (rPET) is another sustainable option. For brands with an eco positioning, these options are a visible brand signal.
Which order quantity makes sense?
Stock items in standard sizes with a standard design are available from stock. Custom printing pays off from larger runs. For fashion brands we recommend standard bags with self-adhesive brand labels as an interim solution.
Are the bags suitable for shipping?
Yes, they work as inner packaging for boxed shipments. As standalone shipping packaging they are less suitable, as they do not hold shipping labels well and are mechanically less robust than film.
