The LDPE drawstring bags 50 microns are crystal-clear bags made from soft LDPE with a threaded drawstring that you simply pull together to close. At 50 microns thickness they are reclosable and suitable for shipping, storage and packing textiles or dry products.
What the drawstring bags are used for
The bag closes tool-free via the drawstring and can be reopened as often as you like — ideal where contents are stored dust-protected but removed regularly. Thanks to the crystal-clear film the contents stay visible at all times.

Material and properties
LDPE is soft, crystal-clear and tear-resistant and therefore pleasant to handle. The film is food-grade per EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011 (declaration of conformity on request) and cold-resistant down to about -40 °C, so suitable for deep-freezing. At the top end LDPE is stable up to around 70 to 80 °C, but is not suitable for hot filling. As a mono-material the bag is recyclable in the PE stream and PPWR-compliant from 2030.
Closure and difference from the ziplock
The drawstring is a gathering closure: you gather the opening together via the drawstring, which is quick and also works with bulky or irregular contents. If, on the other hand, you need a more airtight, flat ziplock closure for writing on or for retail hanging, our ziplock bags are the matching sister variant. For particularly sharp-edged or heavy contents, choose a thicker film.
Recycling and disposal
Because the bag is made of pure LDPE, it is recyclable by type and gives a clean, NIR-detectable signal in the PE stream. After use it belongs in the yellow bag; remove any drawstring made of a different material beforehand. This makes the bag a recycling-friendly mono-material solution in the spirit of the PPWR.

Are the bags suitable for deep-freezing?
Yes. LDPE is cold-resistant down to about -40 °C, so you can use the bag in the deep-freeze range. It is not suitable for hot filling, however, as LDPE is only stable up to around 70 to 80 °C.
Are the drawstring bags suitable for textiles and shoes?
Yes, that is a main application. The crystal-clear LDPE film protects textiles, shoes and accessories dust-free, keeps the contents visible and is quickly closed via the drawstring.
Is the film food-grade?
Yes. The LDPE is certified for food contact per EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011, for example for spices or dry goods. You receive the declaration of conformity (PIM) on request.
Are 50 microns enough for my contents?
50 microns is designed for standard contents without extreme stress. For sharp-edged or particularly heavy contents a thicker film is recommended so the bag is not punctured.
How do I dispose of the drawstring bag?
The bag is made of pure LDPE (mono-material) and belongs in the yellow bag. In the German PE recycling stream it is NIR-detectable and fully recoverable; you should remove the drawstring before disposal if it is made of a different material.
