What Is Transparent Tubular Film?
Tubular film is a continuous PE tube on a roll – clear (LDPE) and with no fixed length. It is cut to the required length on site as needed and sealed with a heat sealer (or adhesive tape). This makes it the most flexible packaging solution of all: for contents that are too long or too irregular for standard bags, it is indispensable.
Typical industrial applications: packaging long aluminum profiles, protecting pipes, packaging textile rolls, wooden battens, bars and precision parts of unusual length. Compared to standard bags, tubular film is considerably more cost-effective, since you use only the length you need. It is also the standard for automated packaging lines.
Our transparent tubular film range covers the most important tube widths: 100×0.05 mm to 600×0.15 mm. Standard LDPE film, food-grade to EU 10/2011. Available on rolls in 100–1000 m lengths. With or without a side gusset (gusseted tubular film for bulky contents). For industrial applications, antistatic and ESD-conductive special films are available.

Frequently Asked Questions About Transparent Tubular Film
How crystal-clear is transparent tubular film?
LDPE tubular film is highly transparent, but not 100% crystal-clear like PET – it has a slightly milky tinge. The contents are clearly visible and colours are easy to distinguish. For a maximum crystal-clear look (e.g. display packaging), clear PP film is the alternative.
What is transparent tubular film suitable for?
Anywhere the contents should stay visible: visible retail packaging, order picking with visual checks, bundling of profiles/textile rolls, protective packaging of long goods. The continuous form allows any custom length.
Which widths and thicknesses are available in transparent?
Tube widths of approx. 35–1200 mm in 25–200 microns. Thinner films are more transparent and more economical, thicker ones more robust. Calculate the circumference using circumference = 2 × flat width.
Does the film stay clear permanently or does it yellow?
Stored dry and in the dark, LDPE stays clear for years. Under permanent UV exposure (outdoor storage), standard film can become slightly cloudy and brittle after a few months – for this there is UV-stabilised special film.
Is transparent tubular film food-grade?
The food-grade LDPE variant is certified to EU 10/2011 – ideal for visibly packaged foods (baked goods, pasta). Declaration of conformity on request.
Can I print transparent tubular film?
Yes, by flexo printing on the outside – also partially printed, so that a clear viewing area is retained. Printing as a bespoke order with a minimum run.
Transparent or with a window – which is better?
Fully transparent tubular film shows the whole product and is cheaper; packaging with a window combines a printed brand area with partial visibility. For pure visibility and bundling, transparent tubular film is the most economical solution.
How do I seal transparent tubular film?
At both ends with a film sealer (bar or impulse sealer), alternatively with a bag clip or adhesive tape. For clean, tight seams we recommend a bar sealer matched to the film width.
