What are waste side gusset sacks?
Side gusset sacks for waste and production scrap are the robust variant for industrial waste collection. They have to withstand extreme conditions: sharp edges, high weights, rough handling conditions, often outdoor storage in the container area. Standard film sacks fail here; waste variants are specifically designed for this.
Our range of waste side gusset sacks covers typical industrial waste applications. Film thicknesses 100–200 microns. With or without marking print (residual waste, recyclables, hazardous waste) depending on the disposal logistics.
In the range you will find various material variants, film thicknesses and application specialisations – from standard LDPE through laminate films with an aluminum aroma barrier to sustainable PCR recyclate, bio-PE and mono-material options. All standard films are available food-grade to EU 10/2011; declarations of conformity for HACCP files or supplier assessments are available via our enquiry form.
What are waste side gusset sacks suitable for?
- Industrial waste: production scrap, reject material
- Rubble collection: small rubble quantities in an orderly way
- Workshop waste: metal chips, workshop waste
- Reject material: B-stock, returned goods
- Container collection: pre-sorted material for containers
- Outdoor storage: weather-resistant waste containers
Which waste variant is the right one?
- Film thickness 100 microns: standard industrial waste
- Film thickness 150 microns: workshop waste, sharp-edged contents
- Film thickness 200 microns: rubble, heavy industrial waste
- With marking print: “waste”, “residual waste”, “recyclables”
- In signal colours: black for residual waste, yellow for recyclables, red for hazardous waste
- With closure strip: integrated closure aid
- UV-stabilised: for outdoor storage
Your benefits with waste sacks from Elke Plastic
We have imported industrial films directly from the manufacturer since 1976. For waste sacks, tear resistance under sharp-edged waste is decisive. Our suppliers meet the requirements for robust industrial quality. Shipping from our German warehouse with tiered prices.
Over more than 45 years, our packaging specialists have supported thousands of packaging projects and know the pitfalls in detail: which film thickness withstands the contents? Which closure suits the end use? Which material meets your sustainability requirements without greenwashing risk? We advise honestly, drawing on the experience of countless projects – rather than with marketing phrases.
Shipping is from our German warehouse. Standard goods are usually available immediately; custom printing and custom-made items are arranged individually within the delivery time window. All customers – B2B and B2C alike – receive transparent tiered prices directly in the order table on the product page (no minimum order value); for pallet quantities we prepare individual quotes on request. Frequently asked questions about waste side gusset sacks
What do I use side gusset sacks for waste and production scrap for?
As robust collection sacks for production offcuts, punching waste, chips, film and plastic residues or mixed waste. The side gusset creates a large box-shaped volume that fits well into mesh boxes, waste containers or onto pallets.
Which wall thickness withstands sharp-edged waste?
For sharp-edged or heavy production scrap (metal chips, punching grids, glass) 120–200 microns or thicker; for light, soft waste 80–100 microns is sufficient. When in doubt, the higher thickness – a punctured sack causes more effort than the material saving brings.
Are the sacks available in recycled material?
Yes – for waste, sacks with a high PCR recyclate content make sense and are ecologically consistent, as there is no food contact. On request with the recyclate share specified.
Which size for a mesh box or waste container?
For the standard mesh box, about 1250 mm wide with a suitable side gusset and overhang. Tell us the internal dimensions of your container and we will supply the matching sack – common sizes from stock.
How do I close and transport full waste sacks?
Twist the overhang and secure it with a bag clip, cable tie or strapping. For heavy sacks, ensure sufficient wall thickness and careful handling so the seam does not tear open.
Are coloured or opaque sacks possible?
Yes – for sorting or visual screening there are coloured and opaque versions (e.g. black for confidential production scrap). As a custom order with a minimum order quantity.
Are they suitable as liners for presses or containers?
Large-volume, thick-walled side gusset sacks are suitable as liners for baling presses, shredder collection and containers, to keep bulk goods clean and moisture-protected. Size and thickness according to the application.
Are there waste sacks without a minimum order quantity?
Common formats are available from stock with no minimum order value; special sizes, coloured or recyclate-containing versions we manufacture on request. Shipping from our German warehouse.
