The Block Bottom Bags 4-ply are particularly hard-wearing paper bags made from four-ply kraft paper with a box-shaped block bottom. The multi-ply wall carries higher weights and is therefore the right choice for heavy goods and bulk goods that would overwhelm single-ply packaging.
What the 4-ply block bottom bags are intended for
Where single-ply paper or film bags reach their limits, the four-ply construction plays to its strength: it distributes the load across several paper layers and stays dimensionally stable. This makes the bags suitable for dense, heavy or coarse-grained contents in larger fill quantities.

Material and properties
Four-ply kraft paper is significantly more tear-resistant and load-bearing than a single paper layer while retaining the natural paper appearance. The bags are food-grade to EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011; the declaration of conformity (PIM) and an FSC confirmation are available on request. Pure kraft paper goes through the waste paper recycling stream.
4-ply versus single-ply and film
You choose the 4-ply bags when load capacity and stability are the priority and the fill weight is high. For lighter quantities in a natural look the single-ply Natron Natur is enough; if you need crystal-clear visibility instead of paper, the OPP film variant is suitable. If the contents should be visible, you combine that with the Natron with window – though without the high load capacity of the four-ply wall.

Why four layers of paper?
The four kraft paper layers distribute the load and make the bags tear-resistant and load-bearing. This way they hold high fill weights and coarse bulk goods that would overwhelm single-ply bags.
Which contents are the 4-ply bags ideal for?
For heavy and dense dry goods in larger quantities – such as flour, grain, baking mixes or coffee in storage packs. Wherever load capacity matters more than a view of the contents.
What material are they made of?
From four-ply kraft paper in a natural look. The material is robust, easy to print and recyclable via the waste paper stream.
Are the bags food-grade?
Yes, they are certified for food contact to EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011. You receive the declaration of conformity (PIM) on request.
How do I dispose of the 4-ply bags?
Pure kraft paper belongs in the waste paper bin. Only with heavy soiling, for example with grease, do you choose residual waste.
Is the kraft paper FSC-certified?

When is a single-ply bag enough instead?
For lighter fill quantities and standard dry goods the single-ply Natron Natur suffices and saves material. You use the 4-ply specifically for high weights and bulk goods.
Can the bags be printed in colour?
Yes, the kraft paper takes print well. We arrange individual printing in flexo or gravure with a logo individually, with minimum quantity and lead time.
