Recycling film packaging is an important step worldwide to reduce plastic waste and keep valuable raw materials in circulation. Everyone can contribute: carefully separate film packaging from other waste, remove food residues and dispose of it via the designated collection systems. Modern recycling plants transform clean material into new granulate, from which packaging, bags or technical films are made again. Every correctly disposed-of film means less waste in nature, less resource consumption and a cleaner future – everywhere in the world.

The LDPE flat bags 100 microns are flat, closureless packaging bags made from crystal-clear low-density polyethylene with a sturdy 100 microns material thickness. This is the heavy-duty tier of the range – made for sharp-edged, heavy or pointed contents where thinner films would puncture or tear.

What the LDPE flat bags 100 microns are used for

At 100 microns you have the maximum reserve against puncturing and tearing. You use these bags when the contents bring weight or edges and the bag is mechanically stressed during transport.

  • Heavy or sharp-edged small parts, metal and workshop components
  • Bulk goods with weight that would stretch thinner films
  • Food packing with higher protection requirements

Material and properties

Even at 100 microns LDPE stays soft and crystal-clear, but gains significantly in stiffness and puncture resistance. The thick wall forgives edges and points that would perforate a 25 or 50 microns bag. Food contact compliance per EU 10/2011 and EC 1935/2004 is provided (declaration of conformity PIM on request). LDPE is cold-resistant down to approx. -40 °C and suitable for deep-freezing, heat-stable up to around 70–80 °C.

Choosing the right thickness

Reach for 100 microns when puncture and tear resistance matter – with sharp-edged, heavy or pointed contents. For normal handling the 50 microns universal thickness is sufficient, for light, soft goods 25 microns will do. If, on the other hand, you need crystal clarity with premium rigidity rather than film thickness, the PP flat bags 40 microns are worth a look; that is a different material class for presentation purposes. At 100 microns you pay a little more film per bag, but in return you gain maximum protection against rejects caused by perforated packaging.

Processing and sustainability

You can seal even the thick wall cleanly – simply set your film sealer a little longer than for thin bags, and you get a very durable seam. As a PE mono-material the bags are fully recyclable by type and PPWR-compliant from 2030. We ship from our German warehouse usually within 1–3 working days; custom formats in 100 microns we produce from a minimum order quantity.

Frequently asked questions about the LDPE flat bags 100 microns

When do I really need 100 microns instead of 50 microns?

When the contents are sharp-edged, pointed or heavy. 100 microns delivers the necessary puncture and tear resistance; for normal, soft contents the 50 microns universal thickness is enough and saves film.

Can the bag handle screws or metal parts?

Yes, that is exactly what the heavy-duty tier is made for. The 100 microns wall copes with the edges and points of screws, fittings or workshop parts far better than thinner films.

Does the thick bag stay transparent?

Yes. Even at 100 microns the LDPE is crystal-clear, so you see the contents fully. The bag just feels firmer and less floppy than the thin tiers.

Is the 100 microns bag approved for food?

Yes, per EU 10/2011 and EC 1935/2004. You receive the declaration of conformity (PIM) on request – handy, for example, for heavier food portions with higher protection requirements.

Can I deep-freeze the bags?

Yes. LDPE stays flexible down to approx. -40 °C; the thick 100 microns layer is robust and suitable for deep-freezing. The bag is not intended for hot filling above 70–80 °C.

Can the thick film be sealed without problems?

Yes. With sufficient sealing time you can seal even 100 microns cleanly and very durably. Set your sealer a little longer than for thin bags.

How do I dispose of the bags?

By type into the PE recyclables stream. As a PE mono-material they are recyclable and PPWR-compliant from 2030.

Which sizes are available?

The available formats are listed in the order table above. Custom formats in 100 microns are possible from a minimum order quantity as a bespoke production.

Can I get a sample of the strong variant in advance?

Yes. Before your first order we send you free samples so you can assess the strength of the 100 microns film yourself.
