The LDPE flat bags 25 microns are flat, closureless packaging bags made from soft, crystal-clear low-density polyethylene with just 25 microns material thickness. This thin tier is the light entry-level variant of the flat bags range – ideal when you want to wrap and seal light, non-sharp-edged contents dust-tight without using unnecessarily much film.
What the LDPE flat bags 25 microns are used for
At 25 microns you are in the range of light packing goods. In practice you use these bags wherever clean portioning and clear visibility matter, but the contents bring no weight and no edges.
- Spices, tea and dry products in powder or sprinkle form
- Bakery and patisserie small parts, light baking ingredients
- Promotional and sample inserts, flyers, light small parts
Material and properties
LDPE is soft, stretchy and tear-resistant and clings closely to the contents – the 25 microns film is deliberately thin and therefore particularly economical. The bags are crystal-clear so you have the contents fully in view. For food contact they are suitable per EU 10/2011 and the framework regulation EC 1935/2004; you receive the declaration of conformity (PIM) on request. LDPE is cold-resistant down to about -40 °C and therefore suitable for deep-freezing, and stays heat-stable up to around 70–80 °C.
Choosing the right thickness
25 microns is the thinnest of the three LDPE tiers. Choose it for light, soft contents where you want to save film and costs. As soon as the contents get heavier or you handle them more often, you are better off reaching for 50 microns as a robust universal gauge. For sharp-edged or heavy parts that could puncture, the 100 microns variant is the safe choice. As a rough rule of thumb: the lighter and softer the contents, the thinner the film may be – at 25 microns you are at the lower, cost-effective end of this scale.
Processing and sustainability
You close the open bag with a standard film sealer; the thin 25 microns layer seals quickly and cleanly. As a pure PE mono-material the bags belong by type in the PE recyclables stream and are thus recyclable as well as compliant with the EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR) from 2030. We deliver as stock goods without a minimum order value from our German warehouse, usually within 1–3 working days.

Which contents is the thin 25 microns film suitable for?
For light, non-sharp-edged contents. Spices, tea, loose dry goods, light small parts and inserts are ideal. For weight, edges or frequent handling you should switch to 50 or 100 microns.
Why LDPE and not HDPE for this bag?
LDPE is soft, crystal-clear and tear-resistant and clings closely to the contents – ideal for clear-view packaging. HDPE would be stiffer, crinklier and thinner-feeling; for transparent packing the soft LDPE is the better choice.
Are the bags approved for direct food contact?
Yes. They meet EU 10/2011 and the framework regulation EC 1935/2004 for food contact. We issue the declaration of conformity (PIM) to you on request.
Can the 25 microns bag be sealed shut?
Yes. LDPE is easily heat-sealable, so you can close the open bag with a standard film sealer. The thin 25 microns layer seals quickly and cleanly.
Are the bags suitable for deep-freezing?
Yes. LDPE stays flexible down to about -40 °C and does not crack, so the 25 microns bag is suitable for deep-freezing. At the top end it is heat-stable up to around 70–80 °C – it is not designed for hot filling.
How do I dispose of the bags correctly?
As a pure PE mono-material they belong by type in the PE recyclables stream (yellow bag / recyclables bin). This makes them recyclable and compliant with the PPWR requirements from 2030.
