Recycling film packaging is an important step worldwide to reduce plastic waste and keep valuable raw materials in circulation. Everyone can contribute: carefully separate film packaging from other waste, remove food residues and dispose of it via the designated collection systems. Modern recycling plants transform clean material into new granulate, from which packaging, bags or technical films are made again. Every correctly disposed-of film means less waste in nature, less resource consumption and a cleaner future – everywhere in the world.

The OPP-CPP cross bottom bags with sealed seam 40 microns are crystal-clear stand-up bags with a cross bottom made of oriented polypropylene (OPP) with a sealable CPP inner layer. At 40 microns material thickness they are the more stable, brilliantly transparent variant for food – food-grade in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011 and recyclable as a mono-material in the PP stream.

What the OPP-CPP cross bottom bags are used for

OPP gives the film particularly high brilliance and stiffness, so the bags stand up crisply and showcase the goods in a high-quality way. They are used for confectionery, dry products, tea, spices and baked goods wherever presentation and stability matter equally. The CPP inner layer makes them cleanly weldable over the sealed seam and ensures a tight closure.

  • Confectionery and pralines with a high-quality visual presence
  • Tea and spices in delicatessen presentation
  • Dry products and powder portions
  • Bakery and confectionery goods at the POS

Material and properties

The composite uses two layers of the same plastic type: on the outside stiff, crystal-clear OPP for look and shape, on the inside sealable CPP for the tight closure. Because both consist of polypropylene, the bags remain a mono-material and are recoverable in the PP recycling stream – thus designed for recyclability under the EU packaging regulation PPWR from 2030. Food contact is certified in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011, the declaration of conformity (PIM) is available on request.

When 40 microns OPP-CPP instead of 30 microns

Reach for this variant when you need more stiffness, more brilliant transparency and a recyclable mono-material solution. The 30 microns cross bottom bags are the lighter, cheaper choice for simple dry goods without high visual demands; the 40 microns OPP-CPP variant scores when premium look, dimensional stability and a clear recycling profile are the priority.

Frequently asked questions about the OPP-CPP cross bottom bags 40 microns

What does OPP-CPP mean for these bags?

OPP is the outer, stiff and crystal-clear layer of oriented polypropylene, CPP the inner, sealable layer. Together they create a brilliant, dimensionally stable bag that can be welded cleanly over the sealed seam.

Are the OPP-CPP bags recyclable?

Yes. Since OPP and CPP both consist of polypropylene, the bags are a mono-material and recoverable in the PP recycling stream. They are thus designed for the recyclability requirements of the EU packaging regulation PPWR from 2030.

Where do I dispose of the bags after use?

In the recycling collection. As a pure polypropylene mono-material they are recovered in the German PP recycling stream.

Why 40 microns instead of the 30 microns variant?

The 40 microns OPP-CPP film is stiffer, more dimensionally stable and more brilliantly transparent than the 30 microns variant. It suits a higher-quality presentation and somewhat more demanding fill goods, while 30 microns remains the light solution for simple dry goods.

Are the bags approved for food?

Yes, in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011. They are suitable for direct contact with confectionery, tea, spices and baked goods. We send the declaration of conformity (PIM) on request.

How high-quality does the transparency look?

OPP is significantly more brilliant and crystal-clear than simple PE film. The content thus stands out particularly clearly, which makes the bags attractive for delicatessen and premium presentations.

Do the bags stand securely on their own?

Yes. The square cross bottom and the stiffness of the OPP provide a firm standing surface, so the filled bag stands upright and dimensionally stable at the POS.

Can the bags be given a custom brand print?

Yes, individual printing in flexo or gravure is possible from a minimum quantity. We coordinate quantity and lead time individually — send us an enquiry via the contact form.

Are there samples of the 40 microns variant in advance?

Yes. Before the first order you receive free samples to check stiffness, clarity and sealing behaviour. You'll find the available sizes in the order table above.
