Recycling film packaging is an important step worldwide to reduce plastic waste and keep valuable raw materials in circulation. Everyone can contribute: carefully separate film packaging from other waste, remove food residues and dispose of it via the designated collection systems. Modern recycling plants transform clean material into new granulate, from which packaging, bags or technical films are made again. Every correctly disposed-of film means less waste in nature, less resource consumption and a cleaner future – everywhere in the world.

The rLDPE flat bag with recycled content 50 microns is a flat, closure-free packaging bag made from LDPE with GRS-certified recycled content and a 50 micron material thickness. It offers the familiar LDPE properties in the robust universal thickness – but with reduced use of virgin material, so the more sustainable choice in the PE recycling stream.

What the rLDPE flat bags are used for

The rLDPE bag is intended for users who want to reduce their material footprint without giving up the proven LDPE processing. It covers the same fields of application as the standard LDPE bag 50 microns.

  • Food packing: spices, dry products, powder portions
  • Small parts and spare parts: screws, workshop components, electronic components
  • Shipping and storage bags with a sustainability requirement

Material and properties

The base is LDPE with GRS-certified recycled content. GRS (Global Recycled Standard) verifiably documents the origin and proportion of the recycled material. The bag is crystal-clear and retains the soft, tear-resistant LDPE properties. Food contact is given according to EU 10/2011 and EC 1935/2004 (declaration of conformity PIM on request). LDPE is cold-resistant down to approx. -40 °C and freezer-suitable, heat-stable up to around 70–80 °C. As a PE monomaterial the bag remains recyclable and PPWR-compliant from 2030.

When the recycled-content bag is the right choice

Choose the rLDPE bag if proven recycled content is important to you and you want to stay in the PE recycling stream. Material and 50 micron thickness correspond to the standard LDPE flat bag 50 microns, which in return is more crystal-clear and without recycled-content colour variation. If instead the packaging should be compostable, the PLA flat bag 50 microns (EN 13432) is the alternative – a different recovery route. This way you can deliberately choose according to the argument that counts most in your communication: recycled-content rate or compostability.

Processing and ordering

In processing the rLDPE bag behaves like regular LDPE: you fill and seal it exactly like the standard bag with any film sealing device. You order it as stock goods with no minimum order value; we ship from a German warehouse usually within 1–3 working days and are happy to include free samples before the first order, on which you can judge for yourself the possible slight cloudiness caused by the recycled content.

Frequently asked questions about the rLDPE flat bags with recycled content 50 microns

What does the GRS-certified recycled content mean?

GRS stands for Global Recycled Standard and verifiably documents the origin and proportion of the recycled material used. This way you can credibly declare the recycled content of your packaging.

How does the rLDPE bag differ from the standard LDPE 50 microns?

Material and thickness are identical, but the rLDPE bag contains recycled content. The standard bag is in return more crystal-clear and without the possible slight colour or clarity variations that recycled content can bring.

Does the bag lose stability through recycled content?

No, the 50 micron thickness remains the robust universal dimension. The bag retains the soft, tear-resistant LDPE properties; visually, recycled content can lead to slight clarity differences.

Is the rLDPE bag food-grade despite the recycled content?

Yes, it is suitable for food contact according to EU 10/2011 and EC 1935/2004. You receive the declaration of conformity (PIM) on request.

Is the bag suitable for small parts and spare parts?

Yes, explicitly. With 50 microns you pack screws, workshop components or electronic parts securely. For particularly sharp-edged or heavy contents a stronger LDPE variant makes sense.

Can I freeze the rLDPE bag?

Yes. Like regular LDPE it stays flexible down to approx. -40 °C and is freezer-suitable. It is heat-stable up to about 70–80 °C, so not suitable for hot filling.

rLDPE or PLA – which is the more sustainable route?

That depends on the recovery route. The rLDPE bag relies on recycled content and recyclability in the PE stream; the PLA bag on industrial composting according to EN 13432. Choose according to your disposal and brand concept.

How is the bag disposed of?

As a PE monomaterial, sorted by type into the PE recycling stream. This makes it recyclable and it meets the PPWR requirements from 2030.

Are there samples and which formats are available?

The available formats are listed in the order table above; we produce special formats from a minimum run. Before your first order we send you free samples on request.
