Recycling film packaging is an important step worldwide to reduce plastic waste and keep valuable raw materials in circulation. Everyone can contribute: carefully separate film packaging from other waste, remove food residues and dispose of it via the designated collection systems. Modern recycling plants transform clean material into new granulate, from which packaging, bags or technical films are made again. Every correctly disposed-of film means less waste in nature, less resource consumption and a cleaner future – everywhere in the world.

The rLDPE ziplock bag with recycled content, 90 microns, without write-on panel combines sustainability and robustness: LDPE with a recycled PE content, a strong 90 micron wall thickness and a double-lip ziplock closure. This gives you puncture-resistant packaging with reduced use of virgin material.

What the robust recycled-content variant is suitable for

The 90 microns give noticeably more tear and puncture resistance, while the recycled content improves your packaging footprint. This combination suits more demanding contents with a sustainability requirement:

  • heavier or sharp-edged small and spare parts, metal components
  • food packing with frequent handling of the units
  • shipping and storage packaging that should be robust and resource-saving

Material, thickness and recycling

The base is LDPE with recycled content: soft, tear-resistant, freezer-suitable down to about -40 °C, and additionally puncture-proof at 90 microns. The use of recycled content may make the film minimally less crystal-clear than pure virgin material. Food contact is assured according to EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011 (PIM on request). As a PE monomaterial the bag is fully recyclable in the PE stream and PPWR-compliant from 2030 — recycled content plus recyclability contribute directly to the circular requirements of the PPWR.

When 90 microns recycled content instead of 50 microns?

The 50 micron recycled-content variant is enough for light contents and is cheaper per bag. Reach for 90 microns as soon as the contents are heavy or sharp-edged or the bag is moved often. If you want maximum crystal clarity, virgin LDPE is the choice; if compostability is the goal, the PLA bag.

Robustness and environmental footprint in one

This variant is aimed at everyone who wants to compromise neither on load capacity nor on sustainability requirements. The 90 micron wall absorbs the weight and edges of more demanding contents without tearing, while the recycled content reduces the use of virgin plastic and thus contributes to the circular requirements of the PPWR from 2030. Especially in shipping and storage, where bags are often handled multiple times, the thicker film plays out its durability — and precisely this repeated use over the 30 to 50 closure cycles additionally improves the footprint. Since the bag remains sorted-type PE, after use it is fed back into the PE recycling stream via the recycling bin and fully recycled.

Frequently asked questions about the rLDPE ziplock bags with recycled content 90 microns

Why 90 microns in the recycled-content variant?

For more puncture and tear resistance with heavier or sharp-edged contents — combined with the reduced use of virgin material through the recycled content. You get robustness and sustainability in one bag.

Is the bag with recycled content food-grade?

Yes, certified according to EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011. The declaration of conformity (PIM) and, on request, migration test reports are available on request.

Does transparency suffer from the recycled content?

The film may appear minimally less crystal-clear than pure virgin material. At 90 microns this is barely visible; for absolute brilliance virgin LDPE would be the alternative.

Does the 90 micron recycled-content film withstand sharp-edged parts?

Yes, that is its strength profile. The thicker wall resists edges and burrs significantly better than the 50 micron variant. With extremely pointed parts, additionally bed the contents centrally.

Is the variant freezer-suitable?

Yes. Like pure LDPE, rLDPE stays flexible down to about -40 °C; the 90 micron wall is even somewhat less sensitive to impact in the cold.

How do I dispose of the 90 micron recycled-content bag?

Via the recycling / recycling bin. It is sorted-type PE monomaterial, NIR-detectable and fully recyclable in the PE stream — the recycled content closes the loop additionally.

How does this variant differ from the PLA bag?

rLDPE is recycled in the PE recycling stream (recycling bin); PLA is bio-based and industrially compostable (organic waste bin). You choose according to the goal: recycle in the PE loop or compost.

Which sizes are available in 90 microns with recycled content?

The available dimensions are listed in the order table above. Not every size is necessarily available in 50 and 90 microns — compare the tables or request a special size.

Are there better prices for larger quantities?

Yes. The tiered prices fall with the quantity and are listed openly in the order table. For pallet quantities we create an individual offer on request with direct shipping by freight forwarder.
