Recycling film packaging is an important step worldwide to reduce plastic waste and keep valuable raw materials in circulation. Everyone can contribute: carefully separate film packaging from other waste, remove food residues and dispose of it via the designated collection systems. Modern recycling plants transform clean material into new granulate, from which packaging, bags or technical films are made again. Every correctly disposed-of film means less waste in nature, less resource consumption and a cleaner future – everywhere in the world.

The U-Clips 33 are tool-free bag closures made from food-grade plastic with an internal wire core, designed for an opening width of 33 mm. You place the bag neck into the U-shaped clip, press the legs together – and the bag is sealed shut in a second, with no tape, knot or machine.

What the U-Clips 33 are used for

The U-Clips 33 are the standard closure in bakeries, patisseries, farm shops and at weekly markets – wherever bread, rolls, pastries or loose goods need to go into the bag quickly and cleanly. Because the clip can be closed and reopened without tools, it is also suitable for reuse at home, for example to reseal opened bags.

  • Bakery and patisserie: bread and roll bags in daily business
  • Farm shop and direct marketing: fruit, vegetables, eggs in clear bags
  • Market and snack stand: fast closing without downtime

Material and properties

The clip consists of a flexible plastic sheath with an inserted steel wire. The wire gives the closure hold and shape stability, so it wraps firmly around the bag neck and does not spring open on its own. The plastic is food-grade, so you can use the clips directly on bags with bread or baked goods without concern. We provide a declaration of conformity under the EC 1935/2004 framework on request.

Choosing U-Clips 33 or 40

The number denotes the opening width of the clip. The 33 mm variant suits slimmer bag necks and thinner bundles – that is, classic roll and smaller bread bags. If you need more room for thicker bags, filled pouches or bulky goods, the U-Clips 40 are the better choice. If in doubt, order both sizes as a free sample and check which width suits your bag range.

Frequently asked questions about the U-Clips 33

What does the number 33 mean on the U-Clips?

The 33 stands for the opening width of the clip in millimetres. It suits slimmer bag necks, as are common with roll and smaller bread bags. For thicker bundles, take the 40 variant.

Do I need a machine to close the U-Clips 33?

No. You close the U-Clips 33 by hand: insert the bag neck, press the two legs together, done. There are also clipping devices for high throughput, but they are not strictly necessary.

Are the U-Clips 33 suitable for food?

Yes. The plastic is food-grade, so the clip may be used directly on bags with bread, baked goods or fruit. We send a declaration of conformity under the EC 1935/2004 framework on request.

Can I reuse the U-Clips 33?

Yes. Because the clip can be reopened without tools, you can use it several times – for example to reseal opened bags. The wire core ensures it keeps its shape even after repeated closing.

Do the U-Clips 33 really keep the bag tightly closed?

The inserted steel wire wraps the clip firmly around the bag neck and prevents it from springing open on its own. For dry goods such as bread and pastries this makes a reliable, shape-stable closure. For an airtight or aroma-tight seal of roasted coffee, however, you need a bag with an aroma valve.

What material are the U-Clips 33 made of?

From a plastic sheath with an internal steel wire. The plastic makes the clip grippy and food-grade, while the wire gives it the necessary stiffness to hold firmly.

Are the U-Clips 33 suitable for continuous use in a bakery?

Yes, that is what they are made for. At the counter, the clip can be closed in a second, without tape or machine – saving noticeable time in daily business compared with twisting or knotting.

Can I get samples of the U-Clips 33 in advance?

Yes. Before your first order we send you free samples so you can check the opening width and handling on your own bag range. You make the request via the contact form.

In what quantities are the U-Clips 33 available?

You will find the available pack sizes and the corresponding tiered prices directly in the order table at the top of this page. There is no minimum order value; we ship larger quantities from our German warehouse, and pallets by forwarder.
