Recycling film packaging is an important step worldwide to reduce plastic waste and keep valuable raw materials in circulation. Everyone can contribute: carefully separate film packaging from other waste, remove food residues and dispose of it via the designated collection systems. Modern recycling plants transform clean material into new granulate, from which packaging, bags or technical films are made again. Every correctly disposed-of film means less waste in nature, less resource consumption and a cleaner future – everywhere in the world.

The U-Clips 40 are tool-free bag closures made from food-grade plastic with an internal wire core and an opening width of 40 mm. You place the bag neck into the U-shaped clip, press the legs together, and the bag is securely sealed in a single movement – without tape, without a knot, without a machine.

What the U-Clips 40 are used for

With a 40 mm opening width, this variant is designed for thicker bag necks and bulkier goods. It is used wherever well-filled or larger bags need to be closed: in bakeries and patisseries for large loaves, in farm shops for full fruit and vegetable bags, and at markets for goods where the slimmer 33 size would be too tight.

  • Bakery: larger bread bags and well-filled bags
  • Farm shop and direct marketing: bulky fruit and vegetable portions
  • Market and counter: fast closing of thicker bundles

Material and properties

The U-Clips 40 consist of a flexible plastic sheath with an inserted steel wire. The wire keeps the clip in shape and ensures it sits firmly around a thicker bag neck and does not spring open. The food-grade plastic allows direct use on bags with bread, baked goods or unpackaged fruit. You receive a declaration of conformity under the EC 1935/2004 framework on request.

Choosing U-Clips 40 or 33

The 40 stands for the opening width in millimetres. You choose this size when your bags are filled thicker or have a wider neck than the U-Clips 33 can cleanly grip. If the 33 clip already sits tight or can only be closed with effort, the 40 variant is right. If, on the other hand, the bag neck fits loosely, the smaller width is enough and the closure sits tighter.

Frequently asked questions about the U-Clips 40

What does the 40 indicate on the U-Clips?

The 40 is the opening width of the clip in millimetres. It is designed for thicker bag necks and bulkier goods – that is, well-filled or larger bags where the 33 size would be too tight.

When do I take the U-Clips 40 instead of the 33?

Whenever the bag neck is thicker or the 33 clip closes only with effort. For full fruit bags or large loaves, the 40 mm width gives you the room needed for a firm fit.

Do I need to buy a device for the U-Clips 40?

No. You close the clip by hand, by inserting the bag neck and pressing the legs together. For high throughput there are optional clipping devices, but they are not necessary.

Are the U-Clips 40 food-grade?

Yes. The plastic is suitable for food contact, so you can use the clip directly on bags with bread, pastries or fruit. We provide the declaration of conformity under the EC 1935/2004 framework on request.

Can I reuse the U-Clips 40?

Yes. The clip can be reopened and reclosed without tools. Thanks to the wire core, it keeps its shape and sits reliably even after repeated use.

What are the U-Clips 40 made of?

From a plastic sheath with an internal steel wire. The wire makes the clip shape-stable, while the food-grade plastic ensures safe handling on the bag.

Do the U-Clips 40 spring open on thick bags?

No, as long as the bag neck fits within the 40 mm width. That is exactly what the larger opening is for: it encloses thicker bundles without the clip coming under tension and springing open. If it gets even tighter, we clarify special sizes on request.

Can I get samples of the U-Clips 40 before ordering?

Yes. Before your first order we send you free samples so you can check whether the 40 mm width suits your bags. You make the request via the contact form.

What pack sizes are available for the U-Clips 40?

You can see the available quantities and the corresponding tiered prices directly in the order table above. There is no minimum order value; shipping is from our German warehouse, and larger quantities go by forwarder.
