Recycling film packaging is an important step worldwide to reduce plastic waste and keep valuable raw materials in circulation. Everyone can contribute: carefully separate film packaging from other waste, remove food residues and dispose of it via the designated collection systems. Modern recycling plants transform clean material into new granulate, from which packaging, bags or technical films are made again. Every correctly disposed-of film means less waste in nature, less resource consumption and a cleaner future – everywhere in the world.

The Coffee Bags with K-Sealing Silver are silver-coloured stand-up pouches made of LDPE mono-material for packing roasted coffee and other aroma-sensitive dry products. The K-sealing ensures a clean, tight corner seam, and because the bag is pure polyethylene, it runs as a recyclable mono-material in the PE stream.

What you use the coffee bags with K-sealing for

You use this bag wherever you portion roasted coffee, tea or dry products and at the same time value a recyclable packaging structure. The stand-up base makes the bag stable on the shelf, so that it presents cleanly in the farm shop, the coffee roastery or in online shipping.

  • Roasted coffee and specialty coffee in small and medium portions
  • Black, green, herbal and fruit tea
  • Spices, powders and other dry products

Material and K-sealing in detail

The LDPE is soft, tear-resistant and food-grade under EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011 — we send you the declaration of conformity (PIM) on request. The decisive factor here is the K-sealing: it draws the weld seam cleanly into the corners, so that no open channels form in which coffee oil or powder can settle. This way the packaging stays tight and the seam holds even with firmer filling.

When this variant suits — and when the aluminium bags do

The silver K-sealing variant is the right choice when recyclability in the PE stream is more important to you than a complete light barrier. It is mono-material and thus designed PPWR-compliant for the requirements from 2030. If, on the other hand, you need the maximum aroma and light barrier with an integrated degassing valve for freshly roasted coffee, reach for the aluminium variants in black, gold, red, silver or white. When in doubt, request free samples in advance and check the material, seam and look in hand.

Frequently asked questions about the Coffee Bags with K-Sealing Silver

What does the K-sealing mean on this coffee bag?

The K-sealing is a clean corner weld that draws the seam right into the corners. This means no open channels form in which coffee oil or powder can settle, and the bag stays tight even with firm filling. This is a key point precisely with coffee, because fine roast powder would otherwise creep into untidy seams.

Does the silver variant with K-sealing have an aroma protection valve?

No, this LDPE variant is designed for recyclability in the PE stream and has no integrated degassing valve. If you pack freshly roasted coffee that is still outgassing a lot of CO₂, you either need a waiting time for degassing before sealing or you choose one of the aluminium variants (black, gold, red, silver, white) with a built-in aroma valve.

What material is the bag made of?

It is made of pure LDPE, that is soft, tear-resistant polyethylene as a mono-material. This makes it food-grade and at the same time recoverable in the PE recycling stream — unlike the aluminium-laminated composite variants.

Is the bag approved for food contact?

Yes, the LDPE is certified for direct food contact under EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011. We send you the declaration of conformity (PIM) and, on request, migration test reports.

How recyclable is the silver K-sealing really?

Very good, because it consists of a single plastic. Pure LDPE is NIR-detectable in the German Yellow Bag and fully recoverable in the PE stream. The bag is thus designed for the recyclability requirements of the PPWR from 2030 — in contrast to aluminium composites, which are harder to separate as a mixed material.

Does the silver bag protect the coffee aroma despite the missing aluminium?

It offers solid basic protection against moisture and mechanical stress, but not a complete light and oxygen barrier like an aluminium composite. For coffee that is consumed quickly or additionally stored cool and dark, this is plenty. For long shelf times in a bright display, the light-proof aluminium variants are the safer choice.

Can I have the bag printed with my roastery logo?

Yes, individual printing in flexo or gravure is possible, for example with your roastery logo, variety details and mandatory labelling under the FIC Regulation. We clarify the minimum run and delivery time individually — just send us an enquiry.

What sizes are there and do I get samples in advance?

You will find the available sizes with the respective volume prices directly in the order table at the top of this page. Before your first order we are happy to send you free samples of the standard sizes, so that you can assess the LDPE material, K-seam and silver look in advance.

Where does the bag belong after use?

In the Yellow Bag. As a pure LDPE mono-material it is detected and recovered in the German PE recycling stream, without the need for material separation as with aluminium composites.
