The kraft paper stand-up pouch with aroma protection valve combines the natural paper look with an integrated one-way degassing valve – ideal for freshly roasted coffee with a sustainable brand image. The valve lets escaping CO₂ out while blocking the ingress of oxygen; the pouch is food-grade in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011 and stands securely on the shelf when filled.

How the aroma protection valve works
The one-way degassing valve only opens outwards: outgassing CO₂ escapes, oxygen stays out. This means you can pack freshly roasted coffee directly without the pouch swelling or the aroma suffering. The kraft paper also gives it a high-quality, natural exterior look.
Kraft paper or black valve version – the choice
Choose kraft paper when a natural look and sustainability are the priority. If you also need full light protection, the black or the aluminum valve version is better, as paper is less light-tight. Pure kraft paper belongs in the waste paper bin; FSC certification on request.

What is the aroma protection valve for?
It lets the CO₂ from freshly roasted coffee escape while blocking oxygen. This means you can pack fresh without the pouch swelling – the aroma stays fresh.
Why kraft paper instead of a black valve bag?
Because of the look: the natural brown paper surface conveys a sustainable, artisan brand image that is ideal for organic and artisan coffee.
Does kraft paper protect the coffee from light?
Only partially. Paper is not fully light-tight. If you need maximum light protection for sensitive roast aromas, choose the black or the aluminum valve version.
Can I pack the coffee immediately after roasting?
Yes, that is the point of the valve. The outgassing CO₂ escapes outwards in a controlled way and oxygen does not enter – a separate degassing time is not necessary, which saves you time and storage space in the roastery.
Is the pouch coated on the inside?
Yes, the inside is laminated to a food-grade standard so that coffee beans and ground coffee are packed in compliance with EC 1935/2004, while the paper look is retained on the outside.
Is the version resealable?
Yes, via the zip with 30–50 opening cycles. This keeps the coffee protected after opening, and the valve continues to provide pressure equalisation.
How do I dispose of the pouch?
Pure kraft paper belongs in the waste paper bin; if heavily soiled with grease, in the residual waste. We provide FSC certification on request.
Does the pouch stand upright when filled?
Yes, the bottom gusset forms a stable base for an upright coffee presentation on the shelf.
Can I print my roaster logo on it?
Yes, custom printing in flexo or gravure printing is possible; on kraft paper this looks particularly high-quality. We discuss minimum order quantity and lead time individually.
