The matt black stand-up pouch is a light-tight Doypack made of LDPE with a bottom gusset and a matt, anti-reflective surface – the most premium look in the range for high-end brands, with a pleasantly velvety feel. It is opaque, food-grade in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011 and recyclable in the PE stream.
What the matt black variant is used for
You choose it when maximum premium quality and a dark, matt shelf appearance are required. The anti-reflective surface looks especially refined and protects light-sensitive contents thanks to its opacity.

Material and surface
The material base is LDPE: soft, tear-resistant and cold-resistant down to about -40 °C, so suitable for freezing. The matt black colouring is light-tight and avoids glossy reflections, which enhances the premium effect and protects roasted aromas from light. The full oxygen barrier is provided by the aluminium variant; matt black, by contrast, combines light protection with a particularly refined, low-reflection surface.
Matt black or glossy black – the choice
Matt black looks anti-reflective, modern and especially refined; glossy black is the classic. If you also need coffee degassing, combine the light protection with the black version with aroma protection valve. As a monomaterial, the pouch goes into the recycling bin for plastics.
Printing and processing
On the matt black surface, light or metallic printing inks create a calm, refined contrast; printing in flexo or gravure is possible. During converting, the LDPE film behaves softly and tear-resistantly, and the tear notch ensures clean first opening. As a PE monomaterial, the pouch goes into the recycling bin for plastics and is NIR-detectable and fully recyclable in the recycling stream. What distinguishes matt black from glossy black?
The surface: matt black is anti-reflective and looks especially refined and modern, glossy black is the classic variant. Both are based on LDPE.
Is matt black light-tight?
Yes, the black film is light-tight and protects light-sensitive contents such as roasted coffee particularly well – the matt surface additionally avoids reflections.
Why a matt surface?
Because it barely reflects and looks especially high quality. This makes matt black the most premium look in the stand-up pouch range, ideal for premium and gift brands.
Does the pouch offer aroma protection?
Good light and basic protection thanks to the light-tight film, but no complete oxygen barrier. For maximum aroma protection choose aluminum, for coffee degassing the black valve variant.
Can I freeze in it?
Yes. LDPE stays flexible down to about -40 °C and is therefore suitable for freezing. The film is not designed for hot filling above around 80 °C.
Can matt black be printed?
Yes, light or metallic colours create a refined, calm contrast on the matt surface. Printing in flexo or gravure is possible.
Does the pouch stand upright when filled?
Yes, the bottom gusset forms a stable base for upright presentation on the shelf.
Is it resealable?
Yes, via the zip with 30–50 opening cycles, complemented by the tear notch for clean first opening.
How do I dispose of it?
