The transparent stand-up pouch is a crystal-clear Doypack made of LDPE with a built-in bottom gusset that stands freely on the shelf when filled and leaves the contents fully visible. It combines free standing stability at the POS with full product view and is food-grade in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011.
What the transparent stand-up pouch is used for
You use this variant wherever the contents sell themselves: colourful confectionery, nuts, dried fruit, muesli and granola mixes, tea or coloured powders. Because the film is crystal-clear, the customer sees colour, grain and fill level directly in the shop, entirely without a window.

Material and properties
LDPE is soft, tear-resistant and crystal-clear – the film barely creases and lies cleanly around the contents. It is cold-resistant down to about -40 °C and therefore suitable for freezing, and stays heat-stable up to around 70–80 °C. It is not designed for hot filling or a hard oxygen barrier; for that you reach for an aluminium or laminate pouch.
Transparent or kraft paper – when this variant fits
Choose the transparent pouch when the look of the product is the buying argument. If, on the other hand, a natural, deliberately „organic" brand image is the priority, the kraft paper variant suits better; if you need aroma and light protection for roasted coffee, aluminium or the valve variant is the right choice. As a monomaterial in the PE stream, the transparent pouch is recyclable and PPWR-compliant from 2030.
Printing and processing
If your logo should go on the clear film, custom brand printing in flexo or gravure is possible; on transparent LDPE, labels and printed accents appear to float above the contents. For ongoing packing, the pouch can be filled by hand or by machine, and the tear notch gives your customers clean first opening. We usually ship stock items from our German warehouse within one to three working days, and we send free samples of the standard sizes in advance so that you can calmly test clarity, thickness and filling behaviour.

Frequently asked questions about the transparent stand-up pouch
What material is the transparent stand-up pouch made of?
Of crystal-clear LDPE. This film is soft, tear-resistant and particularly see-through, so you can see the contents fully. LDPE is food-grade in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011.
How clear is the film really?
Crystal-clear – you look directly at colour, grain and fill level. Unlike the kraft paper bag with a window, here the entire pouch surface is see-through, not just a section.
Can I freeze the transparent pouch?
Yes. LDPE stays flexible down to about -40 °C and does not crack, so the variant is suitable for freezing. It is not intended for hot filling above around 80 °C.
Does the pouch stand securely on the shelf when filled?
Yes, the built-in bottom gusset folds open during filling and forms a base. This way the pouch presents upright on the shelf without leaning.
Is the pouch resealable?
Yes. The zip lasts 30–50 opening and closing cycles without loss of function, and the tear notch provides a clean edge on first opening.
Is the transparent variant suitable for roasted coffee?
For short storage, yes; for freshly roasted coffee only to a limited extent: without an aroma valve, escaping CO₂ can inflate the pouch, and without an aluminium layer light protection is low. For specialty coffee the valve or aluminium variant is better.
Where do I dispose of the pouch after use?
In the recycling bin for plastics. It consists of pure LDPE (monomaterial), is NIR-detectable in the German PE recycling stream and fully recyclable – PPWR-compliant from 2030.
Can I get a sample in advance for filling?
Yes, we send samples of the standard sizes on request so that you can check film thickness, clarity and standing stability yourself before your first order.
