The transparent monomaterial stand-up pouch is a crystal-clear Doypack made of pure LDPE that is fully recyclable because it consists of only one type of material. It combines full product view with single-stream recyclability and is food-grade in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011.
What the monomaterial variant is used for
You choose it when you need transparency and recyclability at the same time – for example to meet the upcoming EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR) proactively. The contents stay visible, the packaging single-material.

Material and recyclability
Unlike laminate films, this pouch consists exclusively of PE. This makes it NIR-detectable and fully recyclable in the German PE recycling stream – PPWR-compliant from 2030. Visually it is crystal-clear, soft and tear-resistant; cold-resistant down to about -40 °C and therefore suitable for freezing.
Monomaterial or standard transparent – the difference
Visually both are crystal-clear; the added value of the monomaterial variant lies in the deliberately single-material construction and the documented recyclability. If, on the other hand, you need a maximum aroma or light barrier, there is no way around aluminium. For fresh coffee, the valve variant remains the right choice.
Printing and recycling
So that recyclability is preserved, you plan the printing to be material-compatible; brand printing in flexo or gravure is possible, and on the clear film printed accents float above the contents. After use, the pouch goes as pure PE into the recycling bin for plastics, where it is NIR-detectable and fully recyclable. This way you meet the recyclability requirements of the EU Packaging Regulation proactively. What does monomaterial mean for this pouch?
It consists of only one type of material – pure LDPE – without laminate layers. This allows it to be recycled single-stream in the PE recycling stream, unlike laminate films.
Is the monomaterial variant really recyclable?
Yes. As pure PE it is NIR-detectable and fully recyclable in the German PE recycling stream – and therefore PPWR-compliant from 2030. It goes into the recycling bin for plastics.
How does it differ from the standard transparent pouch?
Visually hardly at all – both are crystal-clear LDPE. The difference lies in the deliberately single-material design and the documented recyclability for PPWR-compliant ranges.
Do the contents stay fully visible?
Yes, the film is crystal-clear; you see colour, grain and fill level directly. This makes the variant ideal for visual presentation on the shelf.
Does monomaterial offer aroma protection?
Basic protection for dry goods, but no hard oxygen or light barrier. For a maximum barrier choose aluminium, for fresh coffee the valve variant.
Can I freeze in it?
Yes. LDPE stays flexible down to about -40 °C and is therefore suitable for freezing. The film is not designed for hot filling above around 80 °C.
Is the pouch resealable?
Yes, via the zip with 30–50 opening cycles without loss of function, complemented by the tear notch.
Does it stand upright when filled?
Yes, the bottom gusset forms a stable base during filling.
Does the variant help with the PPWR switch?
Yes, it is deliberately designed for the recyclability requirements of the EU Packaging Regulation from 2030. We send conformity documentation on request.
