What are spare-part flat bags?

Flat bags for spare parts are the cost-efficient single-use variant for all spare-part applications that don't need reclosability. Unlike ziplock bags (with a zip), flat bags are filled once, closed with adhesive tape or a heat seal, and opened by the end customer. For service applications, repair kits and spare-part shipping they are the cost-efficient standard.

Typical applications: car workshops pack repair kits, mechanical engineering manufacturers ship after-sales kits, online shops for spare parts pack the individual order. Compared with ziplock bags, flat bags save around 30–50% in cost per bag.

Our spare-part flat bag range covers typical service applications. Film thicknesses 50–90 microns, food-grade to EU 10/2011, with or without a write-on panel.

What are spare-part flat bags suitable for?

  • Car repair kits: screws, seals, connectors in a single-use bag
  • Mechanical engineering after-sales: service kits for maintenance
  • Online spare-part shipping: B2C dispatch of individual spare parts
  • Industrial service: prepared service components
  • Home electrics & plumbing: O-rings, hose clamps in the service range
  • Workshop ranges: complete kits for maintenance

Which spare-part variant is the right one?

  • 80×120 mm: individual spare parts, small parts
  • 150×220 mm: standard service kit
  • 200×300 mm: several components
  • 300×400 mm: complete service kits
  • Film thickness 50 microns: standard
  • Film thickness 70 microns: robust for sharp-edged contents
  • Film thickness 90 microns: premium protection, shipping safety
  • With write-on panel: service numbers, batch tracking

Frequently asked questions about spare-part flat bags

Which bag is best for spare parts?

Reclosable ziplock bags and sturdy flat bags are standard for spare parts: they keep small parts sorted, dust-free and labellable together. For sharp-edged metal parts, choose a higher wall thickness (60–90 microns) so the film is not punctured.

Which size do I need for my spare parts?

Choose the bag width approx. 1–2 cm above the largest part and enough height to close it. For screws/small parts, mini formats from 40 × 60 mm are enough; for larger components up to A4 and beyond. Tell us the part size and we'll name the right format.

Should spare-part bags have a write-on panel?

Yes – a white write-on panel is very practical for spare parts: the item number, description or batch can be noted directly. This considerably simplifies storage, picking and service shipping.

Are the bags suitable for sharp-edged metal parts?

With sufficient wall thickness, yes: from 60 microns, and for very sharp-edged or heavy parts 80–90 microns. This way neither the film is punctured nor the zip profile pushed open.

Can I get spare-part bags with a Euro hole for hanging?

Yes – with a Euro hole the bags become retail-ready self-service packaging on a hook. Ideal for spare-part kits in retail or at the workshop counter.

Are the bags available for VCI corrosion protection?

For bare metal spare parts there are VCI bags that prevent corrosion without oil/grease – important for long-term storage of steel and cast parts. As a custom-made product on request.

Can I print spare-part bags with a logo?

Yes – printing with a logo, item number or advisory text is possible as a custom-made product. For service and aftermarket shipping this creates branded, retail-ready packaging.

Are there spare-part bags without a minimum order quantity?

Yes, common formats are available from stock without a minimum order value with tiered prices. Shipping from our German warehouse in 1–3 working days; printed and VCI variants on request.
