Wet-strength parchment substitute 40 g/m² — the chip standard

Classic grease- and moisture-resistant paper with wet-strength sizing. The standard for chips, pretzels, deep-fried ranges. Breathable (food stays crispy) while also grease-proof (no soaking through).

Kraft paper 50–80 g/m² with PE inner

Kraft paper outer (natural or white), with a 15–25 micron LDPE coating inside. Protects against grease soaking through with sausages, doughnuts, Berliner doughnuts. Recyclable in the paper recycling stream (PE content below 5%).

Kraft paper 80–120 g/m² — carrier bags

Sturdy natural paper with a twisted paper cord as the handle. Load capacity 5–10 kg, suitable for medium-weight to-go orders. For premium snack bars, with a flat handle for up to 15 kg load capacity.

OPP film 30 microns — confectionery version

Crystal-clear polypropylene film with high brilliance for sweet snack ranges: roasted almonds, liquorice, sweets. Brilliantly transparent, printable in flexography with a premium look.

Sustainability — snack bar packaging and the reusable packaging law

Since January 2023, take-away businesses above a certain size have been obliged to offer reusable alternatives. Snack bar packaging is therefore a central topic in Germany's reusable packaging law and the EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR).

Paper recycling in the snack bar material stream

Pure paper cone bags and uncoated snack bar carrier bags are fully recyclable in the paper recycling stream. When heavily soiled with grease, they belong in the residual waste, as recycling is impaired.

PE-coated snack bar packaging

Gusset bags and cone bags with a PE inner (content below 5%) remain recyclable in the paper recycling stream. With a thicker PE coating, disposal is via the Gelber Sack — the snack bar packaging remains PPWR-compliant through monomaterial recycling.

Reusable concepts and PP non-woven bags

For reusable snack bar concepts we recommend cotton or PP non-woven drawstring bags with a service life of 50–100 uses. Ecologically worthwhile from around 10 uses compared with single-use carrier bags. Deposit systems can be integrated.

Compostable snack bar packaging

Fully compostable cone bags and carrier bags made from FSC kraft paper with a PLA coating in accordance with EN 13432. Industrially compostable in 12 weeks. Suitable for dry snacks, not for heavily greasy foods (PLA degrades with extreme grease).

Is the packaging suitable for frozen snacks?

LDPE film bags are cold-resistant, but kraft paper soaks through when thawing. For frozen snacks we recommend mono-PE film bags as secondary packaging, using a parchment cone bag only after thawing.
